The discarded commandments

The Discarded Commandments.
Bible believers apple pick which biblical commandments to follow.

Thereby, they disregard other ones. To make life easier, they discard biblical rules such as--

1) Kill witches.
Exodus 22:18 “Do not allow a sorceress to live."

2) On your wedding day, stone your bride if she's not virgin.
Love's got nothing to do with it.
Deuteronomy 22:20 "If the charge [against the newlywed] is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death."

3) Expect the slave you own to like it.
1 Peter 2:18 "Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God."

In fact, your slave should treat you like Jesus.
Ephesians 6:5 "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people."

The New Testament repeats the rule to serve a master as you would Jesus.
Colossians 3:22 "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

4) Kill a friend who entices you to worship a new god.
In that way, those who worship God will be afraid to stray.
Deuteronomy 13:6 "If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and worship other gods' (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. 9 You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone him to death, because he tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again."

5) Don't claim that atheists are immoral as you might bear false witness against them.
Exodus 20:16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor."

6) Tell your wife to keep silent in church.
Instruct her not to speak out in church at all.
1 Corinthians 14:34 "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

7) Kill your child for showing disrespect toward you.
Leviticus 20:9 "Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head."

Exodus 21:15 “Anyone who attacks their father or mother is to be put to death."

8) Turn against family members who won't be Christians.
Matthew 10:35 "I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law-- 36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household."

9) In your neighborhood, support the death penalty for adultery.
Leviticus 20:10 "If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death."

10) Want death for homosexual men.
Leviticus 20:13 "If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

11) You rich should give up your wealth.
Mark 10:25 "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

Mark 10:21 “'Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.' 22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth."

12) Fear that God might kill you for choosing the other guy's religion.
Deuteronomy 6:14 "Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; 15 for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land."

13) Be subservient to your husband, because God wants you to.
Colossians 3:18 "Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord."

14) Speak under divine inspiration.
Never mind the chaos it brings as many say that they speak under divine inspiration and go in different directions.

1 Corinthians 14:4 "Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit,
especially prophecy. ... 5  I would like every one of you to speak in tongues [foreign languages], but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues."

15) Kill anybody in your flock who holds a séance.
Leviticus 20:27 "A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.”

16) When you throw a party, invite strangers not your friends.
Luke 14:12 “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

Good Bible believers, should they apple pick or follow it all.
