Why you can't save yourself

Are You Saved?
Why you cannot save yourself.

The following video says "God desires that everyone should be saved."

Dobbie says: Yes, the New Testament says it (1 Timothy). But elsewhere it says that‑‑

Predestination alone saves.
Ephesians 1:4–6 [H]e chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace.

 God's will alone saves.
Romans 9: 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.

The video states "But [God] will not save you without your consent."

But Dobbie says: Well, the New Testament teaches that salvation is possible through predestination, God's will. Human will plays no part. So the Christian preacher misunderstood the doctrine.
